Community Coach Developers

Tim Horner

We are pleased to announce that the Club now has 2 New Zealand Football qualified Community Coach Developers. Craig Ferguson and Phil Collings completed and passed this course run in conjunction with Football South over the last week. The course linked Coach Developers with the philosophy, theory and delivery styles adopted by NZF. It showcased examples of skills, knowledge and methods to deliver a high quality formal Community Coach Education course, covering areas such as presentation, communication and facilitation skills, with a particular focus on helping adults learn to become good community football coaches. This means that Phil & Craig can now deliver coaching programmes and courses and assess coaches up to the level 2 qualification.

Well done and the Club looks forward to being able to deliver programmes  to its coaches in the future.

Caversham AFC welcomes its new Men's Premier and Division One Coaching team; Steve Fleming, Richard Murray and Malcolm Fleming. The club is excited to secure such an experienced group of coaches who bring an enormous wealth of knowledge and expertise that we know will benefit our players.

Headed by Steve Fleming, the team will employ a synergistic approach that will aim to provide a pathway for players from youth through to senior grade football. Their focus is to create an environment that seeks to develop local youth talent into exceptional senior footballers.

With the continuity Richard brings from the previous regime and Malcolm's focus on youth development we're confident this group has the tools and skill set to build the benchmark for club football in Dunedin.

The club also wishes to thank outgoing head coach Tim Horner for his time at the helm having brought fantastic success, stability and a strong foundation for continued growth.
